Emily and Ryan had been together for 10 years when they got engaged. “It was spontaneous: we were out for dinner and we just decided to pick a date and go with it. We don’t have a traditional engagement story and in fact there wasn’t even a ring, but this is more our style!” Emily says.

For their wedding, the couple chose a laid-back event with tons of DIY elements, which Emily’s parents worked tirelessly to bring together. “They finessed so many small but significant details, from handwriting everyone’s names on Mason jar mugs to creating all the napkins and table runners, and crafting beautiful floral wreaths to hang in the tent above the dance floor. All of their hard work paid off
